Why Your Data Matters: Partnering for Your Child’s Success

At Accessible Hope Therapy Center, we deeply value your partnership as parents in helping your child achieve meaningful progress. One of the most powerful ways you can support your child’s success in ABA therapy is by consistently collecting data on targeted behaviors at home.

Why Collect Data at Home?

We often see your child for only a portion of their day—whether it’s four hours per week or even several hours per day, therapy time represents just a small fraction of your child’s daily experience. The ultimate goal of ABA therapy isn’t simply to reduce challenging behaviors during therapy sessions but to see meaningful improvements at home, school, and in the community. Without consistent, accurate information from home, we cannot clearly understand how well your child is progressing or how effectively our strategies are working.

Easy, Convenient, and Quick

To simplify the process, Accessible Hope provides a user-friendly, web-based system designed specifically for busy parents. By simply clicking a provided link, you’ll see your child’s specific targeted behaviors listed clearly. All you need to do is:

  1. Select the date for which you’re reporting behaviors.
  2. Enter the number of occurrences for each behavior.
  3. Click submit.

The whole process takes less than two minutes, yet it offers crucial insights for your child’s treatment.

Prefer Paper? We Can Help!

If you’re more comfortable using paper forms, that’s completely fine. Just jot down the number of occurrences each day on the provided forms and bring them in. We’ll take care of entering them into our system for you.

Why Parent Participation is Non-negotiable

It’s important to understand that both Accessible Hope and the insurance companies that authorize your child’s ABA therapy require active parent participation. Collecting data consistently demonstrates that you’re engaged in the therapy process. Insurance providers will not authorize continued services without clear evidence of parent involvement.

When parents regularly miss or avoid submitting this important information, it raises concerns about the follow-through at home. Without reliable data, we can’t confirm if strategies are effective outside the therapy setting. Unfortunately, ongoing lack of participation indicates limited parent involvement, significantly affecting the likelihood of your child’s success.

If consistent data collection and parent participation become a persistent challenge, we may no longer be able to continue providing therapy. This isn’t intended as a punishment—rather, it’s because we are committed to truly effective therapy, which relies heavily on parent collaboration and consistency at home.
